2010 Aquatennial Downtown Minneapolis

Full moon, from the balcony of my in-laws....a little piece of green amongst the concrete.
As usual, the fireworks didn't disappoint! Here's the view from the roof-top vantage point. I wish you could see the number of people that came to watch the spectacle.

Whimsy Wendy's Gone To The Dogs!

My tutus aren't just for girls any more! This little pup stopped by Whimsy Wendy's booth to find one just her size. I think it's perfect.... Now available for dollies, favorite stuffed animals and DOGS!

Whimsy Wendy's Wings!

I finally came up with a design for wings that I love! Durable and flexible, these felt wings give me a lot of options for design styles, colors and shapes. They are made with two layers of felt with a layer of stabilizer sandwiched in between. There is a metal rod, sewn into a sleeve at the top of the wings to help keep their shape and soft satin covered elastic to slip around the shoulders and keep them in place. I'm excited about the possibilities!

All the way to Copenhagen!

Here's my happy client story...At Strawberry Festival, I had a returning customer make a point to come up to me and let me know a story about a Whimsy Wendy tutu she had bought a few years ago... After passing the tutu down through her two daughters, she passed it on to a friend living in Copenhagen with her family. Here's the photo of the cutie pie wearing my skirt half-way around the world in Denmark!
I love the fact that the skirt looks as beautiful as its first day and she is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Whimsy Wendy's Box of Imagination

I had a chance to help out with an auction for my girls' school this past Spring and wanted to come up with something special from Whimsy Wendy to donate. I had more fun putting this costume box together for the silent auction. I found the toy box at a local re-sale shop and painted it with castles, checkers and harlequins.... but inside...
...I loaded it with wands, scarves, purses, chefs hats and aprons, tutus, pirate hats, capes and masks. I think it turned out pretty well, but I'm already starting on thinking on neat ideas for next year!

The Capes Are Coming!

It's a prince! No, it's a pirate! No, it's my super hero!
Whimsy Wendy is proud to now offer CAPES! I've been trying to come up with fun stuff for the boys and nothing transports a kid to never-never land more than a CAPE! Watch my Etsy store for new listings.

Strawberry Festival 2010

It's hard to believe Strawberry Fest has already come and gone for this year. The girls and I had such a wonderful time heading back to visit our friends. And THANK YOU to everyone that stopped by the booth and spent time selling, visiting and catching up! It wouldn't be the same without you. I think the only downer on this trip was the small, albeit heavy thunderstorm that passed through the festival on Sunday morning (see attached, very wet photos)
