What a riot! I was wrapping up a bunch of my orders up today, when I stood back and looked at my table, with what looked like a cotton candy explosion. Thanks to a very special order from Sara Belle Boutique in Hartford, Wisconsin, my studio was awash in pinks!
It is especially cheerful in here today, because outside it is a mess of cold, cloudy, mess of sleet and rain. Wisconsin winters just aren't what they used to be.
Thinking of new ideas to go off of my wands, I whipped up some puffy heart wands with some of my extra felt. I think they turned out really cute.
First I made a template of the heart shape I wanted. Next, carefully ironed some stabilizer on the back so that the heart would stand up on its own. Sewed two hearts, wrong sides together with a decorative zig zag stitch, leaving an opening for stuffing. Made a ribbon sleeve for the wooden dowel, tied my ribbons on and hot glued the stick in place. Finished with decorative touches on the heart and .... voila!
Also, here's a link to a friend of mine whose beautiful jewlery really inspires me! Enjoy! http://www.mamamaybornedesigns.blogspot.com/
